     He was given the name of William Hodgeson at birth.¹ In 1833 his name was legally changed to William Cadogan.¹

     Sarah Hodgson Cadogan was born before 10 April 1810 at Barbados.¹ She was the daughter of Ward Cadogan and Sarah Oxley McIntosh.¹ She married Major William Cadogan, son of Richard Hodgson, on 26 November 1825 at Gretna, Scotland.¹ She died on 19 December 1874 at Kensington, London, England.¹

     Ward Cadogan was born before 22 September 1772 at Barbados.¹ He married Sarah Oxley McIntosh, daughter of Thomas McIntosh, on 15 October 1801 at St. Michael’s Parish Church, Bridgetown, Barbados.¹ He died on 18 August 1833 at Northbrook House, Exeter, Devon, England.¹

     Sarah Oxley McIntosh was born before 12 August 1783 at Barbados.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas McIntosh.¹ She married Ward Cadogan on 15 October 1801 at St. Michael’s Parish Church, Bridgetown, Barbados.¹ She died on 25 December 1852 at Brighton, Sussex, England.¹
     From 15 October 1801, her married name became Cadogan.¹

     Hon. Mary Anne Ursula Addington was born in 1782.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Addington, 1st Viscount Sidmouth and Ursula Mary Hammond.¹ She died on 24 December 1847.¹
