Robert Lewis Balfour Stevenson was born on 13 November 1850 at 8 Howard Place, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1 He was the son of Thomas Stevenson and Margaret Isabella Balfour.1 He married Frances Matilda Vandegrift, daughter of Jacob Vandegrift and Esther Thomas Keen, on 19 May 1880 at San Francisco, California, U.S.A.1 He died on 3 December 1894 at age 44 at Vailima, Samoa.1
Robert Lewis Balfour Stevenson used the pen-name of Robert Louis Stevenson.1 He wrote the book New Arabian Nights, published 1882.1 He wrote the book Treasure Island, published 1883.1 He wrote the book Kidnapped, published 1886.1 He wrote the book Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, published 1886.1
