     Patrick Lancaster Gardiner was born on 17 March 1922.¹ He was the son of Clive Gardiner and Lilian Lancaster.¹ He married Susan Booth in 1955.² He died on 24 June 1997 at age 75 at Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.¹
     He fought in the Second World War, in North Africa and Italy.¹ He was educated at Westminster School, Westminster, London, England.¹ He was Tutor in Philosophy between 1958 and 1989 at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.¹ He wrote the book The Nature of Historical Explanation, published 1961.¹ He wrote the book Schopenhauer, published 1963.² He was appointed Fellow, Briitsh Academy (F.B.A.) in 1985.² He wrote the book Kierkegaard, published 1988.²

     Susan Booth married Patrick Lancaster Gardiner, son of Clive Gardiner and Lilian Lancaster, in 1955.¹
     From 1955, her married name became Gardiner.¹

     Vanessa Gardiner is the daughter of Patrick Lancaster Gardiner and Susan Booth.¹
     She was a painter.¹

     Clare K. Gaskin is the daughter of Sylvan Ferdine Gaskin.¹ She married William Ralph Cochrane, son of Malcolm Ralph Cochrane and Mary Anne Scrope.¹
     Her married name became Cochrane.¹

     Sylvan Ferdine Gaskin died on 1 June 2013.¹

     Rufus Sylvan Cochrane was born on 2 August 2016.¹ He is the son of William Ralph Cochrane and Clare K. Gaskin.¹

     Matilda Hersey Lamb was born on 30 June 2016.¹ She is the daughter of Joshua T. R. Lamb and Laura Sunniva Ward.¹
