     He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Cornwall Rangers.¹

     Vice-Admiral Sir John Tremayne Rodd was born in 1789.¹ He was the son of Francis Rodd and Jane Hearle.¹ He married Jane Rennell, daughter of Major James Rennell, on 5 October 1809.¹ He died on 4 October 1938.¹
     He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)¹

     Francis Rodd was born on 12 July 1732.¹ He was the son of Francis Rodd and Alicia Sandford.¹ He married, firstly, Jane Hearle, daughter of John Hearle.¹ He married, secondly, Anne Sanford, daughter of William Sanford.¹ He died on 23 January 1812 at age 79.¹
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Cornwall Militia.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He lived at Trebartha Hall, Cornwall, England.¹

     Francis Rodd was born in 1683.¹ He married Alicia Sandford, daughter of William Sandford.¹ He died on 25 August 1736.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Coldstream Guards.¹ In 1727 he inherited the Trebartha estate, Cornwall.¹

     Alicia Sandford was the daughter of William Sandford.¹ She married Francis Rodd.¹ She died in 1770.¹
     Her married name became Rodd.¹

     William Sandford lived at Exeter, Devon, England.¹

     Jane Hearle was the daughter of John Hearle.¹ She married Francis Rodd, son of Francis Rodd and Alicia Sandford.¹ She died in 1780.¹
