     Major John Usher Hogarth was born on 13 April 1899 at Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England.2 He was the son of Robert George Hogarth.1 He married Irene Margarette Rawlinson, daughter of Sir Alfred Rawlinson, 3rd Bt. and Margarette Kennard Greenfield, in 1933.1 He died on 19 July 1944 at age 45 at Narni, Italy, on active service.1,2
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Grenadier Guards.1 He fought in the Second World War.1
