     Octavius Phillpotts was baptised on 22 September 1822 at Durham Cathedral, Durham, County Durham, England.¹ He was the son of Rt. Rev. Henry Phillpotts and Deborah Maria Surtees.¹ He married Georgina Harriet Lane, daughter of Thomas Veale Lane and Hon. Juliana Sarah Pellew, on 20 February 1860 at St. Andrews, Plymouth, Devon, England.² He died on 31 January 1869 at age 46 at Houndiscombe House, Plymouth, Devon, England.²

     Georgina Lukin Halifax was born circa 1813 at Shropshire, England.¹ She was the daughter of Robert Fitzwilliam Halifax.¹ She married Reverend Edward Copleston Phillpotts, son of Rt. Rev. Henry Phillpotts and Deborah Maria Surtees, on 8 September 1840 at Exeter Cathedral, Exeter, Devon, England.¹
     From 8 September 1840, her married name became Phillpotts.¹

     Florence Mary Coates was born in 1871 at Bedwellty, Monmouthshire, Wales.¹ She was the daughter of Reverend George Alexander Augustus Coates and Harriet Nona Carlyon.¹

     Reverend Frederick Spry Coates was born in 1874 at Runnington, Somerset, England.¹ He was the son of Reverend George Alexander Augustus Coates and Harriet Nona Carlyon.¹ He died on 8 February 1900 at Fladbury, Worcestershire, England.¹

     Commander Francis George Crawshay Coates was born on 23 March 1878 at Earls Croome, Worcestershire, England.¹ He was the son of Reverend George Alexander Augustus Coates and Harriet Nona Carlyon.¹ He married Ruby Deane Powell on 23 March 1918 at Malta.¹ He died on 26 April 1950 at age 72 at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.¹
     He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Navy.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)¹
