     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of officer in the 1st Regiment.1 He was Aide-de-Camp to Lt.-Gen. Sir de Lacy Evans.1 He fought in the Crimean War.1
