     William Ramsay was born in 1806.² He is the son of Sir William Ramsay, 7th Bt. and Agnetta Frances Biscoe.² He married Catherine Davidson, daughter of Robert Davidson, in 1834.² He died on 12 February 1865 at San Remo, Italy.²
     He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.)² He was Professor of Humanity at Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.²

     Alice Wedderburn was born on 10 December 1853 at Kadapa, Madras, India. She was the daughter of Andrew Wedderburn-Maxwell of Middlebie and Joanna Keir.¹ She died, unmarried.¹

     John Stirling, 9th of Keir and 6th of Cadder was the son of Sir John Stirling, 8th of Keir and 5th of Cadder and Lilias Colquhoun.¹ He died in 1693.¹

     Helen Mercer of Aldie was the daughter of James Mercer of Aldie and Jean Stewart.¹ She married Sir Laurence Mercer of Aldie.¹ She died in January 1720.¹
