     Vera Newbury was born in 1891 at Southsea, Hampshire, England.¹ She married Maj.-Gen. Lancelot Daryl Hickes, son of William Alexander Jardone Hickes and Emilie Louisa Keller, in 1915 at Ipswich, Suffolk, England.¹ She died in 1926 at Lutton, Bedfordshire, England.¹
     From 1915, her married name became Hickes.¹

     Major Anthony Dennis D. Hickes is the son of Maj.-Gen. Lancelot Daryl Hickes and Vera Newbury.¹
