     Thomas Stapleton was born on 31 May 1869.¹ He was the son of John Stapleton and Frances Dorothea King.¹ He died in December 1914 at age 45 at Flanders, Belgium, killed in action.¹
     He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of officer in the 1st Battalion, Rifle Brigade.¹

     Bryan Stapleton was born on 20 August 1871.¹ He was the son of John Stapleton and Frances Dorothea King.¹ He married, firstly, Geraldine Emma Crowdy, daughter of Colonel John Henry Crowdy, on 17 July 1912.¹ He married, secondly, Ruth Jane Friel, daughter of Richard James Friel, on 15 November 1918.² He died on 26 March 1941 at age 69.²
     He was with the Public Works Department, State Railways, India.¹

     Geraldine Emma Crowdy was the daughter of Colonel John Henry Crowdy.¹ She married Bryan Stapleton, son of John Stapleton and Frances Dorothea King, on 17 July 1912.¹ She died on 26 August 1916.¹
     From 17 July 1912, her married name became Stapleton.¹

     Colonel John Henry Crowdy gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Engineers.¹

     Miles Henry Stapleton was born on 31 December 1915.¹ He was the son of Bryan Stapleton and Geraldine Emma Crowdy.¹ He married Edna Lyn Culshaw, daughter of William Henry Culshaw, on 20 July 1942.¹ He died on 21 January 1943 at age 27, killed in action.¹
     He graduated from Emmanuel College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant (A) in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.¹ He fought in the Second World War, where he was posthumously mentioned in despatches.¹

     Edna Lyn Culshaw is the daughter of William Henry Culshaw.¹ She married, firstly, Miles Henry Stapleton, son of Bryan Stapleton and Geraldine Emma Crowdy, on 20 July 1942.¹ She married, secondly, Patrick Anthony Swift on 2 January 1945.¹
     She was Sister of QARNNSR.¹ From 20 July 1942, her married name became Stapleton.¹ From 2 January 1945, her married name became Swift.¹

     Patrick Anthony Swift married Edna Lyn Culshaw, daughter of William Henry Culshaw, on 2 January 1945.¹

     Anne Drummond Stapleton was born on 10 January 1914.¹ She is the daughter of Bryan Stapleton and Geraldine Emma Crowdy.¹ She married David Edwyn Clark, son of William Henry Clark, on 23 May 1940.¹
     From 23 May 1940, her married name became Clark.¹ She became an unknown person ‘s adoptive mother.²
