     Lipton Hutton Potts was born on 24 September 1820.2 He was the son of William Potts and Elizabeth Jane Wilkinson.1 He married Jemina Cameron Cumming, daughter of Alexander Cumming and Jessie Cameron, on 25 September 1845 at Newton, North Uist, Scotland.2 He died on 4 June 1873 at age 52.2 He was buried at Jesmond Cemetery, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England.2
