     John William Gascoyne was born on 3 October 1801 at Clifton, Bristol, England.² He is the son of John Gascoyne and Charlotte Sarah de Coetlogon.² He married Julia Cumberland, daughter of Rear-Admiral William Cumberland and Elizabeth Burt, on 20 October 1830.² He died in November 1868 at age 67.²

     Julia Cumberland was born on 18 January 1807 at Liverpool, Lancashire, England.² She was the daughter of Rear-Admiral William Cumberland and Elizabeth Burt.² She married John William Gascoyne, son of John Gascoyne and Charlotte Sarah de Coetlogon, on 20 October 1830.³ She died on 17 October 1884 at age 77 at Redcliffe Street, South Kensington, London, England.²
     From 20 October 1830, her married name became Gascoyne.³

     Bamber Gascoyne was born in 1831 at Devon, England.² He was the son of John William Gascoyne and Julia Cumberland.¹ He married Annie Keeler.² He died on 13 February 1869 at Pukearuhe, Taranaki, New Zealand, murdered by a Maori war party.²
