     John Spottiswoode of Spottiswoode was the son of John Spottiswoode of that Ilk and Helen Arbuthnot.¹ He married Mary Thomson, daughter of John Thomson.¹ He died after 23 August 1755.¹

     John Spottiswoode of that Ilk was the son of Alexander Spottiswoode and Helen Trotter.¹ He married Helen Arbuthnot, daughter of Robert Arbuthnott, 2nd Viscount of Arbuthnott and Catherine Gordon.¹ He died in 1728.¹

     Isobel Dallas is the daughter of James Dallas and Barbara Cockburn.¹ She married William Dallas of Cantray, son of Alexander Dallas of Cantray.¹

     Margaret Penelope Strahan is the daughter of William Strahan.¹ She married John Spottiswoode of Spottiswoode, son of John Spottiswoode of Spottiswoode and Mary Thomson.¹
     Her married name became Spottiswoode.¹

     William Strahan lived at London, England.¹

     Mary Thomson is the daughter of John Thomson.¹ She married John Spottiswoode of Spottiswoode, son of John Spottiswoode of that Ilk and Helen Arbuthnot.¹

     Helen Arbuthnot was baptised on 26 December 1675.¹ She was the daughter of Robert Arbuthnott, 2nd Viscount of Arbuthnott and Catherine Gordon.¹ She married John Spottiswoode of that Ilk, son of Alexander Spottiswoode and Helen Trotter.¹ She died on 10 December 1741 at age 65.¹
