     William Martin Johnston was born in 1754 at Savannah, Georgia, U.S.A.1 He was the son of Dr. Lewis Johnston and Laleah Peyton.1 He married Elizabeth Lichtenstein, daughter of Johann G. Lichtenstein and Catherine Delegal, on 21 November 1779.1 He died in 1804.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the New York Volunteers.1

Lichtenstein and Catherine Delegal.1 She married William Martin Johnston, son of Dr. Lewis Johnston and Laleah Peyton, on 21 November 1779.1 She died on 24 September 1848 at age 84 at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.1
     From 21 November 1779, her married name became Johnston.1
