     Francis Russell Nixon was born in August 1803.1 He was the son of Reverend Robert Nixon.1 He married Frances Maria Streatfeild, daughter of Reverend Thomas Streatfeild and Harriet Champion, on 14 July 1829 at Westerham, Kent, England.1 He married Anna Maria Woodcock on 5 December 1836 at St. James, Dover, Kent, England.1 He died circa April 1879 at Lago Maggiore, Italy.1
     He held the office of Bishop of Tasmania.1
