William Scott

     William Scott was born circa July 1766.1 He was the son of William Scott and Elizabeth Mathews.1 He died on 31 December 1783, when he froze to death during a blizzard off Sandy Hook, New Jersey (along with twelve crew).1 He was buried on 2 January 1784 at Sandy Hook, New Jersey, U.S.A.1
     He gained the rank of Midshipman in 1783 in the Royal Navy.1
