Sir William Trumbull1 

Sir William Trumbull was born in 1639 at East Hampstead Park, Berkshire, England.3 He was the son of William Trumbull and Elizabeth Weckerlin.3 He married, firstly, Katherine Cotterell, daughter of Sir Charles Cotterell and unknown daughter West, in 1670.3 He married, secondly, Hon. Judith Alexander, daughter of Henry Alexander, 4th Earl of Stirling and Judith Lee, in October 1706 at Scotland.1,3 He died on 14 December 1716.3
He was educated at St. John’s College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.3 He was appointed Knight on 21 November 1684.3 He held the office of Envoy Extraordinary to France in 1685.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for East Looe between 1685 and 1687.3 He held the office of Ambassador to the Ottoman Empire between 1687 and 1691.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Oxford University between 1695 and 1698.3 He held the office of Secretary of State on 3 May 1695.3 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) on 3 May 1695.3 He lived at East Hampstead Park, Berkshire, England.1
