Major Charles Henry Tippet1


Major Charles Henry Tippet was baptised on 28 June 1863 at Maltby, Yorkshire, England.1 He was the son of Henry Vivian Tippet and Charlotte Taylor.1 He married Edith Alice Goodson, daughter of James Goodson, in 1886 at Grantham, Lincolnshire, England.1 He died on 7 August 1915 at age 52.2
He gained the rank of Major in the 7th Battalion, Royal Dublin Fusiliers.2 He fought in the First World War.2

He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant on 2 April 1910 in the 4th (Reserve) Battalion, Royal Dublin Fusiliers.1 He fought in the First World War, at the Somme and Passchendale.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain on 26 May 1940 in the General List.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Major on 1 January 1944.1
