     Dorothy Jane Ponsonby was born in 1840 at Westmorland, England.¹ She was the daughter of Miles Ponsonby and Barbara Wilson.¹ She married Robert Arthur Brooke in 1858 at Whitehaven, Cumberland, England.¹ She died on 4 July 1874, on board the Tycho Brahe on the way from Madeira.¹
     From 1858, her married name became Brooke.¹

     Katharine Crampstone Florence Ponsonby was born in 1838.¹ She was the daughter of Miles Ponsonby and Barbara Wilson.¹ She died in 1868.¹

     Robert Arthur Brooke married Dorothy Jane Ponsonby, daughter of Miles Ponsonby and Barbara Wilson, in 1858 at Whitehaven, Cumberland, England.¹ He died on 29 November 1860 at Malaga, Spain.¹
