     He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Artillery.1

     Caroline Alicia Elizabeth Drummond Woodgate was born circa 1808.1 She was the daughter of John Woodgate and Lady Honora Elizabeth Hester Lambart.1 She married Major George Spiller on 23 June 1824 at Tormohun, Devon, England.1 She died in 1877.1
     From 23 June 1824, her married name became Spiller.1

     From 12 January 1893, her married name became Ralston.1 In 1930 Edith brought a case against William for libel – for a tombstone inscribed Jennie, wife of William. She lost because she could not bring an action against her husband.1
