     Rear-Admiral Ernest Kindersley Loring was born on 18 October 1869 at Gillingham, Norfolk, England.^1,4 He was the son of Reverend Edward Henry Loring and Charlotte Watson.¹ He married Ottilia Maude Messel, daughter of Ludwig Ernest Wilhelm Leonard Messel and Annie Cussans, on 7 April 1897 at St. James Church, Paddington, London, England.^1,4 He died on 24 December 1945 at age 76 at Court House, Rusper, Sussex, England.^1,4
     He was commissioned on 15 December 1885 with the rank of Midshipman, in the service of the Royal Navy.² He gained the rank of Lieutenant on 18 November 1892.² He gained the rank of Commander on 31 December 1903.² He gained the rank of Captain on 30 June 1910.² He was commander of the H.M.S. Indomitable on 13 August 1917.² He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral on 9 March 1921.² He retired from the military on 15 January 1923.²

     Reverend Edward Henry Loring was born circa 1823.¹ He was the son of Venerable Henry Lloyd Loring and Henrietta Aurora Louisa Kindersley.^1,2 He married Hannah Adelaide Marsh on 11 May 1853 at Watford, Hertfordshire, England.¹ He married Charlotte Watson, daughter of William George Watson, on 5 August 1863 at Trinity Church, Marylebone, London, England.¹ He died in 1879 at Loddon, Norfolk, England.¹

     Charlotte Watson was the daughter of William George Watson.¹ She married Reverend Edward Henry Loring, son of Venerable Henry Lloyd Loring and Henrietta Aurora Louisa Kindersley, on 5 August 1863 at Trinity Church, Marylebone, London, England.¹ She died on 8 August 1895, drowned in the wreck of S.S. Catterthun off the east coast of Australia.¹
     From 5 August 1863, her married name became Loring.¹

     Major Charles Buxton Loring was born circa 1871 at Loddon, Norfolk, England.¹ He was the son of Reverend Edward Henry Loring and Charlotte Watson.¹ He married Marie Antoinette Caroline Alexander, daughter of General William Ryrie Alexander and Mary Beverley Antoinette Heyland, on 5 October 1901 at Quetta, Bengal, India.² He died on 21 December 1914.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the 37th Lancers (Baluch Horse.)¹
