Sir Joseph Thackwell1 

Sir Joseph Thackwell was born on 1 February 1781 at Rye Court, Worcestershire, England.1 He was the son of John Thackwell and Judith Duffy.1 He married Maria Audriah Roche.1 He died circa 11 April 1859 at Corkby, Ireland.1 He was buried on 14 April 1859 at Corkby, County Cork, Ireland.1
He was commissioned on 16 June 1798 with the rank of Cornet, in the service of the Worcester Fencible Cavalry.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in September 1799.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant on 13 June 1801 in the 15th Light Dragoons.1 He gained the rank of Captain on 9 April 1807.1 He fought in the Peninsular Wars.1 He fought in the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.1 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the 15th Regiment on 15 June 1820.1 He was appointed Knight, Order of Hanover (K.H.) in 1834.1
