     From 16 August 1885, her married name became Mathers.¹ She was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.¹

     Edward Percy Mathers married Mary Augusta Powys, daughter of Robert Horace Powys and Ellen Elizabeth Budd, on 16 August 1885.¹ He died on 13 October 1924.¹

     Ellen Jane Beatrice Powys was born in 1864.¹ She was the daughter of Robert Horace Powys and Ellen Elizabeth Budd.¹ She married Lionel Herbert Hart on 22 December 1896.¹ She died in 1921.¹

     John Powys was born on 30 March 1828.¹ He was the son of Hon. Robert Vernon Powys and Jane Beckett.¹ He married Caroline Louisa Holmes in 1855.¹ He died on 8 June 1857 at age 29 at India, murdered in the Indian Mutiny.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 61st Bengal Native Infantry.¹

     Caroline Louisa Holmes married John Powys, son of Hon. Robert Vernon Powys and Jane Beckett, in 1855.¹ She died on 8 June 1857 at India, murdered in the Indian Mutiny.¹
     From 1855, her married name became Powys.¹
