Major Baden Fletcher Smyth Baden-Powell1 
He was given the name of Baden Fletcher Smyth Powell at birth.1 He fought in the Nile Expedition between 1884 and 1885, in the Guards Camel Corps, where he won a medal and clasp.1 He was awarded the Khedive’s Star in 1885.1 He was Aide-de-Camp to Sir Anthony Musgrave in 1888.1 He was Aide-de-Camp and Private Secretary to Sir Henry Norman in Queensland between 1889 and 1890.2 He fought in the Boer War in 1900.2 He gained the rank of Major in the Scots Guards.1 He was President of the Aeronautical Society between 1902 and 1909.2 On 30 April 1902 his name was legally changed to Baden Fletcher Smyth Baden-Powell by Royal Licence.1 He fought in the First World War.2
