     Captain Thomas Scott Chanter was born in 1832.1 He was the son of Thomas Barnard Chanter and Isabella Scott.1 He was baptised on 26 February 1833 at Retreat Cottage, Northam, Devon, England.1 He married Mary Frances Scott Siddons, daughter of William Young Siddons and Susan Mary Earle, in 1862 at Hythe, Kent, England.1 He died in 1903.1
     He gained the rank of Paymaster in the Royal Navy.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1
