He died on 9 May 2016 at age 90.
     He gained the title of 3rd Fürst zu Castell-Castell.

     Maximilian Friedrich Carl Graf zu Castell-Castell was born on 23 May 1953. He was the son of Albrecht-Karl III Fürst zu Castell-Castell and Marie Luise Bathildis Elfrida Olga Prinzessin zu Waldeck und Pyrmont. He died on 21 December 1974 at age 21 at Wurzburg^G.

     Alexander Friedrich Carl Graf zu Castell-Castell was born on 8 November 1954. He is the son of Albrecht-Karl III Fürst zu Castell-Castell and Marie Luise Bathildis Elfrida Olga Prinzessin zu Waldeck und Pyrmont. He married, firstly, Marion Stepp on 27 January 1983 at Castell, Germany^G.¹ He and Marion Stepp were divorced.¹ He married, secondly, Donatha Herzfeld on 18 April 2002 at Dresden, Germany^G, in a civil marriage.¹ Alexander Friedrich Carl and Donatha were also married in a religious ceremony on 25 March 2002 at Erfurt, Germany^G.¹

     Georg Friedrich Karl Graf zu Castell-Castell was born on 26 November 1956. He is the son of Albrecht-Karl III Fürst zu Castell-Castell and Marie Luise Bathildis Elfrida Olga Prinzessin zu Waldeck und Pyrmont. He married Franziska Greuner on 5 August 1983 at Alhden an der Aller, Germany^G.¹

     Philippa Emma Gräfin zu Castell-Castell was born on 23 January 1952. She is the daughter of Albrecht-Karl III Fürst zu Castell-Castell and Marie Luise Bathildis Elfrida Olga Prinzessin zu Waldeck und Pyrmont. She married Michael Alfred Wolfgang Dietrich Hendrik Antonius Maria Prinz zu Salm-Salm, son of Franz Karl Alfred Emanuel Aloysius Josef Maria Prinz zu Salm-Salm and Maria Baronin von Boeselager, on 27 May 1977.

     Johanna Bathildis Gräfin zu Castell-Castell was born on 23 January 1952. She is the daughter of Albrecht-Karl III Fürst zu Castell-Castell and Marie Luise Bathildis Elfrida Olga Prinzessin zu Waldeck und Pyrmont. She married Johannes Prinz von Lobkowicz on 2 September 1977.

     Christina Gräfin zu Castell-Castell was born on 4 March 1962. She was the daughter of Albrecht-Karl III Fürst zu Castell-Castell and Marie Luise Bathildis Elfrida Olga Prinzessin zu Waldeck und Pyrmont. She died on 11 November 1964 at age 2.
