Joseph Hume, 10th of Ninewells was born on 10 February 1681.1 He was the son of John Hume, 9th of Ninewells and unknown daughter Johnston.1 He married Katherine Falconer, daughter of David Falconer, Lord Newton and Mary Norvell, on 4 January 1708.1 He died in August 1713 at age 32.1
