Olave St. Clair Soames1 

Olave St. Clair Soames was born on 22 February 1889.3 She was the daughter of Harold Soames and Katharine Mary Hill.1 She married Lt.-Gen. Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden-Powell, 1st Baron Baden-Powell, son of Reverend Baden Powell and Henrietta Grace Smyth, on 30 October 1912 at Parkstone, Dorset, EnglandG.1 She died on 25 June 1977 at age 88 at Bramley, Surrey, EnglandG.4,5 She was buried at Nyeri, KenyaG.5
From 30 October 1912, her married name became Baden-Powell.1 After her marriage, Olave St. Clair Soames was styled as Baroness Baden-Powell on 17 September 1929. She was World Chief Guide in 1930.3 She was appointed Dame Grand Cross, Order of the British Empire (G.B.E.) in 1932.1 She has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.6
