     Sir Alexander Grant of Forres, 1st Bt. was born on 1 October 1864 at Forres, Morayshire, Scotland.² He was the son of Peter Grant and Elizabeth Norries.² He married Elizabeth Norris, daughter of Alexander Norris, on 31 July 1887.² He died on 21 May 1937 at age 72 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.²
     He gained the title of 1st Baronet Grant. He was chairman and managing director of McVitie and Price Ltd in 1911.²
