     He was educated at Dungannon Royal School, Dungannon, County Tyrone, Ireland.1 He graduated from Queen’s University, Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland, with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.)1 He graduated from Queen’s University, Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland, with a Bachelor of Surgery (B.Ch.)1 He graduated from Queen’s University, Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland, in 1938 with a Bachelor of Art of Obstetrics (B.A.O.)1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain of the Royal Army Medical Corps.1
