     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indian Army.¹ He was married 2nd Dorothy, daughter of Colonel G F A Norton, RA, and widow of Colonel Arthur Edward Cave Burney, DSO, MC, Royal Artillery on 30 September 1932.¹
