     Sir Isaac Wolfson, 1st Bt. was born on 17 September 1897.1 He is the son of Solomon Wolfson and Naelia Williamovsky.3 He married Edith Specterman, daughter of Ralph Specterman, on 17 February 1926.1 He died in 1991.1
     He was educated at Queen’s Park Academy, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 He was educated at Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was managing director of GUS between 1934 and 1946.1 He was chairman of GUS in 1946.1 He was created 1st Baronet Wolfson [U.K.] on 19 February 1962.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) in 1963.1
