     Hon. Marmaduke Constable-Maxwell of Terregles was born on 1 January 1806.¹ He was the son of Marmaduke William Constable-Maxwell and Theresa Apollonia Wakeman.¹ He married Mary Marsden, daughter of Reverend Anthony Marsden, in 1836.¹ He died on 16 July 1872 at age 66, without issue.¹
     On 2 August 1858 he was granted the rank of a Lord of Parliament’s younger son.¹

     Mary Marsden was the daughter of Reverend Anthony Marsden.¹ She married Hon. Marmaduke Constable-Maxwell of Terregles, son of Marmaduke William Constable-Maxwell and Theresa Apollonia Wakeman, in 1836.¹ She died on 22 October 1882.¹
     Her married name became Constable-Maxwell.

     Reverend Anthony Marsden lived at Gargrave, Yorkshire, England^G.¹

     Herbert Joseph Constable-Maxwell-Stuart, 17th of Traquair was born on 20 July 1842.¹ He was the son of Hon. Henry Constable-Maxwell-Stuart, 16th of Traquair and Juliana Middleton.¹ He died on 13 April 1921 at age 78.¹
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Peebles-shire.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Kirkcudbrightshire.¹ He lived at Traquair, Peebles-shire, Scotland^G.¹ He lived at Terregles, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.¹

     Madeleine Mary Josephine Maxwell-Stuart was born on 21 August 1918.¹ She is the daughter of Francis Joseph Maxwell-Stuart, 19th of Traquair and Dorothy Mary Hartley.¹ She married John Penn Sherbrooke, son of Colonel Nevile Hugh Cairns Sherbrooke and Cicely Morton Mansel-Pleydell, on 23 November 1946.¹ She died on 7 May 2002 at age 83.¹
     Her married name became Sherbrooke.

     Arthur Joseph Constable-Maxwell-Stuart, 18th of Traquair was born on 31 May 1845.¹ He was the son of Hon. Henry Constable-Maxwell-Stuart, 16th of Traquair and Juliana Middleton.¹ He died on 7 November 1942 at age 97, unmarried.¹

     Dorothy Mary Hartley is the daughter of J. D’Arcy Hartley.¹ She married Francis Joseph Maxwell-Stuart, 19th of Traquair, son of Edmund Joseph Maxwell-Stuart and Hon. Mary Anne Constable-Maxwell, on 24 October 1917.¹ She died in 1975.¹
     From 24 October 1917, her married name became Maxwell-Stuart.

     J. D’Arcy Hartley lived at Billesdon Coplow, Leicestershire, England^G.¹

     Sir Alexander Morris Carr-Saunders was born in 1886. He married Teresa Molyneux-Seel in 1929.
     He was appointed Fellow, British Academy (F.B.A.)¹

     John Penn Sherbrooke is the son of Colonel Nevile Hugh Cairns Sherbrooke and Cicely Morton Mansel-Pleydell.¹ He married Madeleine Mary Josephine Maxwell-Stuart, daughter of Francis Joseph Maxwell-Stuart, 19th of Traquair and Dorothy Mary Hartley, on 23 November 1946.² He died on 30 December 2001.²
