     Rt. Rev. Thomas Earle Welby was born on 11 July 1810.¹ He was the son of Sir William Earle Welby, 2nd Bt. and Wilhelmina Spry.² He married Mary Browne, daughter of A. Browne, in 1837.¹ He died on 6 January 1899 at age 88 at Jamestown, St. Helena, in a carriage accident.¹
     He gained the rank of Officer in the 13th Light Dragoons.¹ He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)³ He held the office of Bishop of St. Helena.³

     Mary Browne was the daughter of A. Browne.² She married Rt. Rev. Thomas Earle Welby, son of Sir William Earle Welby, 2nd Bt. and Wilhelmina Spry, in 1837.¹ She died in 1896.¹
     From 1837, her married name became Welby.

     Henry Welby was born in 1838.¹ He was the son of Rt. Rev. Thomas Earle Welby and Mary Browne.² He married Cecilia Bland, daughter of T. Bland, in 1866.¹ He died on 16 June 1869.¹

     T. Bland lived at Cape of Good Hope, South Africa.¹

     Cecilia Bland was the daughter of T. Bland.² She married Henry Welby, son of Rt. Rev. Thomas Earle Welby and Mary Browne, in 1866.¹ She died on 22 January 1923.¹
     From 1866, her married name became Welby.

     Hugh Earle Welby was born in 1867.¹ He was the son of Henry Welby and Cecilia Bland.² He married Evelyn Borradaile Bell, daughter of Adam Bell, on 17 October 1908.¹ He died on 23 March 1952.¹

     Adam Bell was with the Rhodesian Civil Service.¹

     Evelyn Borradaile Bell was the daughter of Adam Bell.² She married Hugh Earle Welby, son of Henry Welby and Cecilia Bland, on 17 October 1908.¹ She died in 1972.¹
     She was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)¹ From 17 October 1908, her married name became Welby.

     Edward Hugh Earle Welby was born on 2 August 1915.¹ He was the son of Hugh Earle Welby and Evelyn Borradaile Bell.² He died on 13 June 1942 at age 26, killed on active service.¹
     He gained the rank of Sergeant Pilot in the Royal Air Force.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹
