     Sir Robert Stuart Usher, 4th Bt. was born on 19 April 1898.1 He was the son of Sir Robert Usher, 2nd Bt. and Katherine Scott Turnbull.2 He married Gertrude Martha Sampson, daughter of Lionel Barnard Sampson, on 12 December 1930.1 He died on 10 November 1962 at age 64.1
     Sir Robert Stuart Usher, 4th Bt. usually went by his middle name of Stuart.1 He was educated at Uppingham School, Uppingham, Rutland, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Inniskilling Dragoons.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He was awarded the Royal Humane Society’s Bronze Medal in 1927.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Usher, of Norton, Ratho, co. Midlothian and of Wells, Hobkirk, co. Roxburgh [U.K., 1899] on 5 May 1951.1
