Philip Albert Inman, 1st Baron Inman1 
He was educated at Knaresborough School, Knaresborough, Yorkshire, England.1 He was educated at Headingley School, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was educated at Leeds University, Leeds, Yorkshire, West Riding, England.1 He fought in the First World War between 1915 and 1916, when he was invalided.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for London in 1945.1 He was created 1st Baron Inman, of Knaresborough, West Riding, co. Yorks [U.K.] on 30 January 1946.1 He was chairman of the Board of Governors of the BBC in 1947.1 He held the office of Lord Privy Seal between April 1947 and October 1947.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) on 23 April 1947.1 On his death his barony became extinct.2
