     He graduated from Queen’s College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He graduated from Queen’s College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1938 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)¹ He gained the rank of Major in 1939 in the Royal Berkshire Regiment (Territorial Army.)¹ He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1942.¹ He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1942.¹

     Richard Hassall lived at Hankelow, Cheshire, England.¹

     Kathleen Frances Curtis was the daughter of Frank John Constable Curtis.² She married, firstly, Captain Arthur Taylor before 1931.¹ She married, secondly, Thomas Alexander Stuart-Menteth, son of Andrew Agnew Stuart-Menteth and Margaret Antoinette Allan, on 30 April 1931.¹ She died on 31 July 1966.¹
     She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Shropshire.¹ From before 1931, her married name became Taylor.¹ From 30 April 1931, her married name became Stuart-Menteth.

     Robert Andrew Stuart-Menteth was born on 2 February 1932.¹ He was the son of Thomas Alexander Stuart-Menteth and Kathleen Frances Curtis.² He died in November 1946 at age 14.¹

     Jean Antoinette Stuart-Menteth was born in 1898.¹ She was the daughter of Andrew Agnew Stuart-Menteth and Margaret Antoinette Allan.²

     Elizabeth Mary Stuart-Menteth was born on 16 November 1903.¹ She is the daughter of Andrew Agnew Stuart-Menteth and Margaret Antoinette Allan.² She married Daniel Maclelland Laird, son of John Laird, on 1 June 1933.¹
     From 1 June 1933, her married name became Laird.

     John Laird lived at Lynton, Kilmacolm, Renfrewshire, Scotland.¹

     Daniel Maclelland Laird is the son of John Laird.² He married Elizabeth Mary Stuart-Menteth, daughter of Andrew Agnew Stuart-Menteth and Margaret Antoinette Allan, on 1 June 1933.¹
     He was appointed Fellow, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (F.R.I.C.S.)¹

     Michael Andrew Laird was born on 25 January 1936.¹ He is the son of Daniel Maclelland Laird and Elizabeth Mary Stuart-Menteth.²
     He graduated from Hertford College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹

     Reverend Granville Wheler Stuart-Menteth was born on 27 March 1811.¹ He was the son of Sir Charles Granville Stuart-Menteth of Closeburn, 1st Bt. and Ludivina Loughnan.² He married Jane Thorold, daughter of Reverend Edward Thorold and Mary Wilson, on 29 August 1837.² He died on 1 September 1887 at age 76.¹
     He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was Rector at Morcott, Rutland, England.¹
