     Walter Cecil Strickland was born on 25 May 1839.¹ He was the son of Augustine Edmund Christopher Strickland and Susan Caroline Deacon.² He married Mary Blanche James, daughter of Maj.-Gen. John Polglase James, on 31 July 1867.¹ He died on 24 April 1913 at age 73.¹
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Devon.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the 83rd Regiment.¹

     Maj.-Gen. John Polglase James was in the Honourable East India Company Service.¹

     Mary Blanche James was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. John Polglase James.² She married Walter Cecil Strickland, son of Augustine Edmund Christopher Strickland and Susan Caroline Deacon, on 31 July 1867.¹ She died on 1 July 1917.¹
     From 31 July 1867, her married name became Strickland.

     Dudley Herbert Cecil Strickland was born on 14 November 1869.¹ He was the son of Walter Cecil Strickland and Mary Blanche James.² He married Margaret Gilbert, daughter of Edwin J. Gilbert, in April 1901.¹ He died in 1953.¹

     Edwin J. Gilbert lived at San Bernardino, California, U.S.A.¹

     Margaret Gilbert was the daughter of Edwin J. Gilbert.² She married Dudley Herbert Cecil Strickland, son of Walter Cecil Strickland and Mary Blanche James, in April 1901.¹
     From April 1901, her married name became Strickland.

     Arthur Cecil Strickland was born on 3 February 1902.¹ He is the son of Dudley Herbert Cecil Strickland and Margaret Gilbert.²

     Violet St. Leger Strickland was born in April 1903.¹ She is the daughter of Dudley Herbert Cecil Strickland and Margaret Gilbert.² She married Frederick Sigrist.¹
     Her married name became Sigrist.¹

     Frederick Sigrist married Violet St. Leger Strickland, daughter of Dudley Herbert Cecil Strickland and Margaret Gilbert.¹

     Muriel Estelle Strickland was born in September 1904.¹ She is the daughter of Dudley Herbert Cecil Strickland and Margaret Gilbert.²
