     Anthony William Vivian was born in 1919 at Pontardawe, Glamorgan, Wales.2 He was the son of Captain Hugh Vivian and Mary Dulcibel Frances Gilbertson.3,4 He married Frances Pamela Ann Strickland, daughter of Claude Francis Strickland and Dorothy Lisa Branson, on 10 January 1942.1 He died on 8 September 1942, killed in action on air operations from Malta.1
     He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Sergeant in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.1,2
