Langley Gordon Haslingden Russell was born on 14 September 1922.2 He is the son of Edward Frederick Langley Russell, 2nd Baron Russell of Liverpool and Constance Claudine Gordon.2 He married Kiloran Margaret Howard, daughter of Hon. Sir Arthur Jared Palmer Howard and Lady Leonora Stanley Baldwin, on 13 June 1951.2 He died on 16 September 1975 at age 53.2
     He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the Grenadier Guards.2 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1945.2
