     He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in 1934 in the Indian Army.¹ He fought in the Second World War, in India and Burma.¹ He was commander of the 1st Battalion, Burma Regiment.¹ He was commander of the 2nd Battalion, Karen Rifles between 1946 and 1948.¹ He retired from the military in 1948, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.¹ He was with the Attorney-General’s Department in 1951 at Australia.¹
