     John Leckie, 8th of that Ilk was born in 1500 at Leckie, Dunbartonshire, Scotland.1 He was the son of Richard Leckie, 7th of that Ilk.2 He married Margaret Seton, daughter of Sir Ninian Seton, 3rd of Touch and Janet Chisholm. He died on 10 September 1547 at Pinkie Cleugh, Inveresk, East Lothian, Scotland, killed in action.1
     He fought in the Battle of Pinkie on 10 September 1547.1
