     Major James Rutherford Lumley was born on 27 October 1810 at Fort William, Calcutta, India.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Sir James Rutherford Lumley and Caroline Wilkinson.1 He married Arabella Wilkinson.1 He married Clara Letitia Faithfull, daughter of Colonel William Conrad Faithfull and Maria (?), on 1 May 1843 at Fort William, Calcutta, India.1 He died on 24 January 1885 at age 74 at Sutton, Surrey, England.2,3
     He fought in the Junjab Wars.2

     Clara Letitia Faithfull was born in 1825 at Bengal, India.1 She was the daughter of Colonel William Conrad Faithfull and Maria (?)1 She was baptised on 24 November 1825.1 She married Major James Rutherford Lumley, son of Maj.-Gen. Sir James Rutherford Lumley and Caroline Wilkinson, on 1 May 1843 at Fort William, Calcutta, India.1 She died in 1905.1
     From 1 May 1843, her married name became Lumley.1
