     Margaret Emily Black was the daughter of John Albert Black.² She married Hugh Baird Spens, son of John Alexander Spens and Sophie Nicol Baird, on 3 September 1912.¹ She died on 20 January 1950.¹
     She lived Drumchapel.¹ Elder.¹ Her married name became Spens. She was Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ In 1952 Dunbartonshire (see BLG BLACK OF HIGHFIELD PARK.)¹

     Thomas Patrick Douglas Spens was born on 15 February 1914.¹ He is the son of Hugh Baird Spens and Margaret Emily Black.² He married Margaret Susan Douglas Pilkington, daughter of Alan Douglas Pilkington, on 7 December 1938.¹
     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.¹ He was Northamptonshire.¹ He was Major late Argyll & Sutherland Hldrs, WW II, memb Royal County Archers.¹ He was educated Rugby, and RMA Sandhurst.¹ He was Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1944.¹ He was Justice of the Peace (J.P.) in 1954.¹ He was Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) in 1966.¹

     Hugh de Bradshagh married Margaret de Verdon, daughter of Sir John de Verdon, before 1383.¹ He died before 1383.¹

     Margaret Susan Douglas Pilkington was the daughter of Alan Douglas Pilkington.² She married Thomas Patrick Douglas Spens, son of Hugh Baird Spens and Margaret Emily Black, on 7 December 1938.¹ She died on 9 December 1943.¹
     And Dean Wood.¹ Newbury.¹ 2nd.¹ Her married name became Spens. She lived Achvarasdal.¹ Caithness.¹ She was Berkshire (see BLGS PILKINGTON OF REAY) in 2001.¹

     Michael Patrick Spens of Wormiston was born on 24 October 1939 at Windsor, Berkshire, England.² He was the son of Thomas Patrick Douglas Spens and Margaret Susan Douglas Pilkington.³ He married, firstly, Caroline Sedgwick Rough, daughter of William George Sedgwick Rough, in 1962.² He and Caroline Sedgwick Rough were divorced.² He married, secondly, Dr. Janet McKenzie, daughter of Donald McKenzie, in 1986.² He died on 28 March 2014 at age 74.²
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.² He was an architect.² He graduated from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1963 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)^2,3 He graduated from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1965 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)³ He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court on 18 May 1970.³ He was publisher and editor of Studio International.² He wrote the book Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe: Gardens of the mind, published 1992.² He wrote the book The Complete Lanscape Designs and Gardens of Geoffrey Jellicoe, published 1994.² He was appointed Fellow, Royal Institute of British Architects (F.R.I.B.A.)³ He wrote the book Modern Landscape, published 2003.²

     Sally Anne Spens was born on 27 March 1942.¹ She is the daughter of Thomas Patrick Douglas Spens and Margaret Susan Douglas Pilkington.² She married Anthony Gordon Hines, son of J H Hines, on 27 July 1963.¹
     Her married name became Hines. She lived in 2003 at Dewland Manor, nr Rotherfield, Sussex, ZZZ.¹

     Anthony Gordon Hines is the son of J H Hines.² He married Sally Anne Spens, daughter of Thomas Patrick Douglas Spens and Margaret Susan Douglas Pilkington, on 27 July 1963.¹
     Sussex.¹ Younger.¹ He lived Mitchell’s Cottage.¹ Rustington.¹

     Douglas Anthony Hines was born in August 1968.¹ He is the son of Anthony Gordon Hines and Sally Anne Spens.²
