     Colonel Horace Ralph Spearman was born on 26 December 1840.1 He was the son of Sir Alexander Young Spearman, 1st Bt. and Jane Campbell.2 He married Isabella Sutherland, daughter of Thomas Sutherland, on 24 August 1867.1 He died on 18 March 1908 at age 67.1
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the Indian Army.1
