     Sir John Christopher Smith-Dodsworth, 8th Bt. was born on 4 March 1935.¹ He was the son of Sir Claude Matthew Smith-Dodsworth, 7th Bt. and Cyrilla Emme Marie Louise Taylor.² He married, firstly, Margaret Anne Jones, daughter of Alfred William Sainsbury Jones, on 5 August 1961.¹ He and Margaret Anne Jones were divorced in 1971.¹ He married, secondly, Margaret Theresa Grey, daughter of Henry Grey, in 1972.¹ He married, fourthly, Nerrisa Feratero in 2006.³ He died on 21 September 2012 at age 77.⁴
     He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Smith, of Newland Park and Thornton Watlass, co. York [G.B., 1784] on 18 May 1940.² He was educated at Ampleforth College, Ampleforth, Yorkshire, England.¹ He did his National Service as a Private in the 2nd Battalion, Green Howards between 1953 and 1955.¹ He was educated at Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, England.¹ He co-authored the book New Zealand Ferns and Allied Plants, published 1989.¹ He wrote the book New Zealand Native Shrubs and Climbers, published 1991.¹ He lived in 2003 at Old Colville Road, Driving Creek, Coromandel, New Zealand.¹

     Alfred William Sainsbury Jones lived at Ruardean, Gloucestershire, England.¹

     Margaret Anne Jones is the daughter of Alfred William Sainsbury Jones.² She married Sir John Christopher Smith-Dodsworth, 8th Bt., son of Sir Claude Matthew Smith-Dodsworth, 7th Bt. and Cyrilla Emme Marie Louise Taylor, on 5 August 1961.¹ She and Sir John Christopher Smith-Dodsworth, 8th Bt. were divorced in 1971.¹
     From 5 August 1961, her married name became Smith-Dodsworth.

     Sir David John Smith-Dodsworth, 9th Bt. was born on 23 October 1963.¹ He is the son of Sir John Christopher Smith-Dodsworth, 8th Bt. and Margaret Anne Jones.² He married Elizabeth Anne Brady on 22 June 1996.¹
     He was educated at Ampleforth College, Ampleforth, Yorkshire, England.¹ He lived in 2003 at Thornton Watlass Hall, Ripon, Yorkshire, England.¹ He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Smith, of Newland Park and Thornton Watlass, co. York [G.B., 1784] on 21 September 2012.¹

     Elizabeth Anne Brady married Sir David John Smith-Dodsworth, 9th Bt., son of Sir John Christopher Smith-Dodsworth, 8th Bt. and Margaret Anne Jones, on 22 June 1996.¹
     From 22 June 1996, her married name became Smith-Dodsworth.

     Matthew David Smith-Dodsworth was born on 26 May 2002.¹ He is the son of Sir David John Smith-Dodsworth, 9th Bt. and Elizabeth Anne Brady.²

     Abigail Cyrilla Smith-Dodsworth was born on 19 January 2001.¹ She is the daughter of Sir David John Smith-Dodsworth, 9th Bt. and Elizabeth Anne Brady.²

     Cyrilla Denise Smith-Dodsworth was born on 1 July 1962.¹ She is the daughter of Sir John Christopher Smith-Dodsworth, 8th Bt. and Margaret Anne Jones.² She married Andrew White in 1986.¹
