     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Field Artillery.¹

     Vera Rose Marriott Smith was born on 22 October 1887.¹ She was the daughter of Colonel Walter William Marriott Smith and Alice Mary Ley.² She married Brigadier Geoffrey Cathcart Gowlland, son of Richard Gowlland, on 20 November 1912.¹
     From 20 November 1912, her married name became Gowlland.

     Brigadier Geoffrey Cathcart Gowlland is the son of Richard Gowlland.² He married Vera Rose Marriott Smith, daughter of Colonel Walter William Marriott Smith and Alice Mary Ley, on 20 November 1912.¹
     He gained the rank of Brigadier in the Royal Engineers.¹

     Reverend Edward Floyer Noel Smith was born on 9 December 1850.¹ He was the son of Reverend Reginald Southwell Smith and Emily Genevieve Simpson.² He died on 14 March 1908 at age 57, unmarried.¹
     He was Vicar at St. Mary, Tottenham, London, England.¹

     Emily Anne Smith was the daughter of Reverend Reginald Southwell Smith and Emily Genevieve Simpson.² She married Reverend John S. Thomas on 8 July 1863.¹ She died in 1879.¹
     From 8 July 1863, her married name became Thomas.

     William Joliffe Eldridge was born in 1776.¹ He married May Tadman.¹ He died in 1818.¹
