     Alan Wyldbore Bosworth Smith was born on 13 April 1870.¹ He was the son of Reginald Bosworth Smith and Flora Wickham.² He married Mary Kennedy, daughter of Maurice Kennedy, in 1899.¹ He died on 18 September 1901 at age 31, without issue.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Navy.¹
