Robert Molesworth Kindersley, 1st Baron Kindersley was born on 21 November 1871.1 He was the son of Edward Nassau Molesworth Kindersley and Ada Good Murray.2 He married Gladys Margaret Beadle, daughter of Maj.-Gen. James Puttle Beadle, on 3 November 1896.1 He died on 20 July 1954 at age 82.1
He was educated at Repton School, Repton, Derbyshire, England.1 He was Director of the Bank of England between 1914 and 1946.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1917.1 He was appointed Dame Grand Cross, Order of the British Empire (G.B.E.) in 1920.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Sussex between 1928 and 1929.1 He was chairman of Lazard Brothers and Company Ltd.1 He was created 1st Baron Kindersley, of West Hoathly, co. Sussex [U.K., 1941] on 28 January 1941.1
