     Sir Henry Skipwith, 1st Bt. is the son of Sir William Skipwith and Margaret Cave.² He married, firstly, Amy Kempe, daughter of Sir Thomas Kempe and Dorothy Thompson.¹ He married, secondly, Blandina Pennen, daughter of John Pennen.²
     He was educated at Queens’ College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.¹ He was appointed Knight in 1609.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Skipwith, of Prestwould, co. Leicester [England] on 20 December 1622.¹ He held the office of Sheriff of Leicestershire in 1636.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Leicestershire in 1641.¹ He held the office of Gentleman of the Privy Chamber to King Charles I.² He was Commissioner of Array.² He was declared a delinquent by Parliament and fined £1,114 with the Prestwould estate declared forfeit and was acquired by Christopher Packe.²

     George Skipwith was born in 1592.¹ He was the son of Sir William Skipwith and Margaret Cave.² He died in 1609 at Denmark, unmarried.¹

     Thomas Skipwith was born in 1594.¹ He was the son of Sir William Skipwith and Margaret Cave.² He married Anne Bluett, daughter of John Bluett.¹

     John Bluett lived at Harloxton, Lincolnshire, England.¹

     Anne Bluett is the daughter of John Bluett.² She married Thomas Skipwith, son of Sir William Skipwith and Margaret Cave.¹
     Her married name became Skipwith.

     Jane Skipwith was the daughter of Sir William Skipwith and Margaret Cave.² She married Sir George Throckmorton.¹ She died, without surviving issue.¹
